A yacht is not only a collection of interiors and exterior spaces. Especially in the charter market, the visual content also needs to communicate what guests can actually experience on board. Water toys are one of the most effective ways to bring that experience to life.

Showing the yacht in action

Jet skis, Seabobs, paddleboards, inflatables, tenders and other toys introduce movement, people and interaction into a yacht photoshoot. Instead of showing only a static vessel at anchor, these images help the viewer imagine a day on board and the activities available around the yacht.

This is particularly valuable for charter marketing, where the objective is not simply to describe the yacht but to communicate the experience that guests are booking.

Why water toys are especially effective in video

Water toys become even more powerful in yacht films. Movement across the water creates natural energy and gives the editor opportunities to change pace between slower sequences of interiors, lifestyle and sunset scenes.

A tender approaching the yacht, a Seabob moving through the water or guests using the toys can immediately make a video feel more dynamic. These sequences attract attention while also showing the scale of the yacht and the range of activities available to guests.

Planning the scene is important

Good water-toy imagery still requires organisation. Sea conditions, light, positioning of the yacht, crew coordination and the availability of a tender or chase boat all influence the result. We often plan these sequences around the best marine conditions rather than treating them as an afterthought at the end of the shoot.

When photography, drone and video are coordinated together, a relatively short water-toy session can generate a wide variety of useful content for charter listings, websites, brochures, social media and promotional films.

For us, these images are an important part of telling the complete story of life on board.
