MYBA Charter Show: Photography, Video and Content for Charter Yachts

The MYBA Charter Show is one of the important professional events dedicated to the yacht charter market.

Hosted at Portosole Sanremo, it brings together charter yachts, brokers, Central Agents, captains and crews. It is an opportunity to discover not only the yachts, but also the type of experience they can offer future guests.

For a charter yacht, the show therefore becomes an important moment for both presentation and marketing.

Showing more than the yacht

Charter is not only about the size of the yacht, the number of cabins or the exterior spaces.

Guests choose an experience.

Crew, cuisine, service, water toys, destinations and the atmosphere on board can be as important as the yacht itself. For this reason, charter photography should go beyond simply documenting empty interiors and exterior decks.

The images should help brokers and potential guests understand what spending a week on board could feel like.

The crew is part of the yacht’s identity

The MYBA Charter Show gives particular attention to crew and service, including initiatives such as the Superyacht Chefs’ Competition.

This is also an essential part of our work: what the crew does is part of what we are photographing.

Preparing breakfast, serving an aperitif, launching the water toys, setting a table or preparing dinner can all become part of the visual story.

The crew does not necessarily need to pose. Often, photographing people while they carry out their normal roles gives the most natural representation of life on board.

Using the MYBA Charter Show to update content

When a yacht is preparing for the charter season, the period around the MYBA Charter Show can also be a good moment to review its marketing material.

Do the current photographs still represent the yacht well? Do they show the crew and service? Are water toys, cuisine and lifestyle included? Is there enough vertical content for Instagram and reels? Is there a complete yacht video?

A yacht can be perfectly prepared for broker visits while its online communication still relies on images produced several seasons earlier. The two should tell the same story.

Photography and video before or after the show

During a charter show it is possible to produce event content, details, interviews and social media material. For a complete shoot, however, working outside the exhibition gives much more freedom.

Sanremo sits between Liguria and the French Riviera, making it possible to organise a production before or after the show and photograph the yacht outside the harbour.

At anchor or underway, we can work from the tender and with the drone, prepare the water toys, create lifestyle scenes and follow the light through sunset and blue hour.

Creating content for the whole charter season

A well-planned production can generate much more than a new set of photographs.

During the same shoot we can produce interiors and exteriors, lifestyle, crew and cuisine, drone photography and video, a main yacht film and short vertical videos for social media.

The material can then be used by the yacht, Central Agent and brokers across websites, charter platforms, brochures, Instagram, press and advertising campaigns.

Instead of producing content separately throughout the year, one production can create a consistent visual library for the entire charter season.

MYBA Charter Show in Sanremo

For Yacht Photo Studio, the MYBA Charter Show is particularly interesting because it takes place within our usual working area between Liguria, Monaco and the French Riviera.

We produce photography, video, drone and lifestyle content for charter yachts throughout this area.

For yachts attending the MYBA Charter Show, we can organise a dedicated production around the event dates, using their presence in Sanremo to create new content for the following season.

Because good charter communication should not simply show the yacht. It should explain why someone would want to spend a week on board.
